Bad Golfers: Top 3 Swing Faults That Destroy Your Scores

Bad Golfers

Are you a bad golfer?

They are at every golf course, every weekend of the year! No, I am not talking about swooping magpies or ducks protecting their young! I’m talking about bad golfers and their persistence in breaking every fundamental rule in the golf swing. They are a persistent bunch who despite time after time shoot below-average scores, continue to turn up with the hope of suddenly turning their game around.

I admire their endeavor, I really do. However, when you’re out on the golf course for 4 1/2 hours why not make it even more enjoyable by actually playing some good golf.

The problem is most bad golfers don’t know any better. They have picked up their swing faults from a friend, neighbour, or even worse another bad golfer.

These swing faults are so ingrained into their golf swing they find it almost impossible to make any positive change for the better.

The good news is all of these swing faults can be changed and substituted for the correct fundamentals.

These changes if done right will have a lasting and positive influence on your golfing scores.

I used to be a bad golfer but implement the simple methods in the Perfect Golf Swing system and made massive progress in just 15 minutes.

It's a must-have for golfers of all abilities, but especially those struggling to break 100 in golf and beyond.

3 SECRET MOVES I WISH I WAS SHOWN WHEN I FIRST PLAYED GOLF

Too Much Time Over the Ball

I see this one almost every weekend and it’s easily the most painful to watch. I watched a golfer last weekend stand over his golf ball for almost 60 seconds. Consequently, he topped the golf ball and it traveled all of 40 metres! It’s like he was stuck in a trance over the ball and couldn’t figure out how to start the golf swing.

The more time you spend over the ball, the greater the chance of negative or too many thoughts entering your mind and ruining your golf swing.

Make a habit of starting your golf swing within 20 seconds after choosing a golf club and the target is clear to hit.

This secret move is one of the most important mental golf tips you can make to get fast improvement in your game.

No Weight Shift

This is the number one problem of all bad golfers that I see. It is usually a bad habit picked up from a previous sport that didn’t require as much weight transfer. What happens is the golfer moves their weight to the right side during the backswing and then keeps it there during the downswing.

To perform a correct golf swing you need the correct golf weight shift.

It must move from the right side (backswing) to the left side (downswing).

WATCH THE VIDEO BELOW WHERE I DEMONSTRATE HOW TO PERFORM THE CORRECT WEIGHT SHIFT:

Chicken Wing

No, I am not talking about raising your elbows and bending them and start flapping like a chicken! Or even what’s on the menu for dinner tonight! The chicken wing is a phrase given to golfers who allow their arms to collapse just past the impact zone of the golf swing.

This fault is often a result of the previous swing fault of incorrect weight shift.

The chicken wing in golf will destroy your timing, distance, and any accuracy you get with the golf ball.

You need to ensure both arms are fully extended just after you make contact with the golf ball.

This produces solid contact with the golf ball and gets maximum clubhead speed and timing through the shot.

Your Next Step

If any one of these three swing faults looks like something you’re doing wrong, then it’s not too late to make a change.

These swing faults have plagued bad golfers for years, but thankfully can be fixed in just a few minutes.

Identify your most common swing fault from the list above and apply the changes as listed.

Let me know if you suffer from any of the above and the results you get from applying the changes?

I would love to hear how you get on!
