I have tried all three and have settled on the interlocking grip. I find it the most comfortable. Additionally, I can grip the club looser with helps with the overall effectiveness of my swing. Thanks for the overview.

    Cheers

      Yes Jim I agree,

It feels the most secure and comfortable to me and personally I’ve found the best results with it.

      Thanks for commenting.

For thirty four yera I haven’t been able to hit a driver, EVER. Today I tried the baseball grip as well as swinging around (not up) and I hit a ball 180 yards straight and high. I couldn’t believe it. I hit six more in a row, and it felt sooo damn good !! I cannot figure how it went so high or straight but it worked so I hit a hundred more balls and every one was Far and straight as an arrow. Hey, it worked for me first time in my golf playing. Going to the course tomorrow to try it out again. I can’t wait.

Morning Troy and Thanks for the comment. I don’t think I slept all night. Funny how much hat effected me. I’m 70 and have been playing since I was thirty. I have never hit a ball more than 20 feet and on the ground until yesterday. I’ve heard people say you know when you hit a good shot, you hear it and feel it. Now I know what it feels like. WOW !!!
My wife hits a driver 150 yards every time and I’m glad for her but hate standing there watching her kill those drives and I cannot :o)
When I hit the first one I hollered OMG look quick. it was still in the air. She couldn’t believe it either. I didn’t try hitting up with my driver but it was like a round barrel swing. Can you explain how it got so high and far?? We’re playing today so I’ll let you know how it goes.

      That’s great Charlie,

If difficult without seeing your golf swing but the good news is the changes you have made are working.

Great to hear of your progress, keep it up!

Hi Try, I called it a barrel swing but it’s a flat swing. Today was a challenge. I only hit about 50% of my drives well. But I also know my mistakes.I wasn’t tilting my right shoulder on the miss hits, as well as not keeping my head down (was dying to see where the ball was going) and not following through. On nine holes I hit five beauties and in front of a pond I drove four straight in the water and was so mad I had to get my composure and finally nailed one about 225 yards. Hit my second shot with a five iron and chipped a short shot onto the green. So I need to correct the mistakes and slow down. Over all it was a 50/50 day. But it’s a learning experience and a nice cold beer after made it a pretty good day. :o)

      Great stuff Charlie,

Yes we all have days like that, but remember PGA tour pros percentage of fairways hit is only about 60% so you’re not far off them.

      Cheers
