    Hi Troy
I am so pleased I watched your video. I’ve been having golf lessons every week for about 6 months. My instructor told me from the beginning that I was swinging out to in or “over the top”. He’s really helped me to improve my game but I couldn’t use the driver as it almost always resulted in a big slice. He’s had me doing many drills in an attempt to cure the over the top swing but nothing seemed to work and although there was improvement, the left to right ball flight was always present and it was so frustrating. I just had to let you know that your video drill worked immediately and it was so simple the way you explained it. I knew straight away on the range yesterday that it was working. I went back there again today just to make sure and it was perfect. Even the driver is going straight and there is so much more distance from both the driver and the irons. It’s great to see the balls releasing forwards when they land instead of bouncing off to the right like they used to do! I’m not usually one for posting comments on the internet but I just had to say thank you! I can’t wait to take it to the course tomorrow.

I have just been watching your Video about swinging it ” Over the top”
i think that the cure is brilliant and i tried it with some success.
i wonder if you might have some advice for me regarding my “Banana legs”
I try to hit through the ball and i believe i use my lower body too much and get ahead of the ball.
I get s “shank like shot very often” and i think that the club face is open because i am so far ahead of it in my downswing.
Of course this might sound a load of rubbish nut i am having knee surgery soon because i have worn them out.
when i really concentrate and hit against a firm left side i hit it well and quite long. do you have a drill to help me to do this please.
Cannot tell you how much i would appreciate some help.
    best regards

THANK YOU. I’ve been looking for a fix for my huge pull slice for so long. I knew I was coming over the top but none of the videos I saw helped me fix my path and I didn’t really have the money to spend on a lesson. I tried this, focused on dropping the hands and keeping my right elbow in, and within one range session I was starting to hit shots dead straight, or with a small amount of draw. Something I’ve never done in the 4 years I’ve played golf. Thanks again, I’m now pretty sure I’m on my way to totally curing my slice.

That’s great to hear Brad, I’m really pleased for you. To help with your learning there’s a great picture I posted yesterday on my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/hittingitsolid that shows the correct way to start your downswing. Mirror this and you are on your way to lower scores.

      Cheers

I really enjoyed your lesson on fixing the over the top swing. I hit balls in my net and it really helps.
I will continue to practice the swing.

Thanks again Troy….I will continue to work on this. Funny enough I’m hitting it further & straighter with my driver than ever before, however my 5 wood off the deck & irons, I’ve got a tendency to hit fat & lost my confidence with them.
I’ll keep working on the tips you’ve given here & check back in a few weeks.

      No worries Tim,

Yes, keep at it and i’m sure the 5-wood and irons will come good. It just takes a bit of persistence and practice.

      Talk to you soon.

      Cheers
