Is it Possible to Achieve the Perfect Golf Swing?

Perfect Golf Swing

Want the perfect golf swing?

Professional and amateur golfers around the world dream of having the perfect golf swing. Whether perfection is strictly achievable – hey even Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy dump it in the water occasionally – is truly open to debate, but that certainly isn’t ever going to stop golfers trying.

In truth, perfection probably isn’t achievable, but there are certainly many ways of trying to improve your golf swing, learning how to understand your golf swing and how to correct your swing faults.

Lengthy practice sessions, lessons with a professional and the use of golf swing training equipment are all viable solutions – but all have their pros and cons.

Practice hard

My wife frequently shakes her head as I check my golf swing in the bedroom mirror or take some club-less practice swings as we trawl up and down the aisles of our local supermarket. You’re laughing – but I bet you do it, too!

If you’ve got a pretty decent swing, then practising it frequently should at least mean you can repeat it on regular basis.

The driving range or practice facilities at your golf club are perfect places to hone it.

However, difficulties occur when things start to go wrong such as you start slicing it or hooking it – and you haven’t got a clue how to put it right.

This is when many golfers decide it’s time to have a lesson or two.

Lessons with a professional

Most golfers who are having a problem with their swing usually go and see their club professional and, whilst many golf club professionals are perfectly capable of analysing your faults and offering advice on how to correct them - teaching varies markedly in both cost and standard.

Top-class coaches such as Butch Harmon, who currently teaches superstar golfers such as Rickie Fowler and Jimmy Walker amongst others, charge thousands of dollars an hour.

Of course, your average golf club professional won’t charge you anything like that (average $50 to $100 a lesson) but you made need to have a few to remedy all your faults, which can prove quite expensive.

The main problem with some golf professionals is that they teach from a manual that is designed to provide you with the perfect golf swing.

However, as golfers come in a plethora of shapes and sizes when it comes to golf swings – one swing doesn’t fit all.
