How to draw the golf ball like a pro
Remember the last time you got stuck behind a big tree and wish you could bend the ball around it to the right and still get to the green? Are you ever faced with hitting to a green with a pin position tucked away on the left and the only way to get to it is to draw the golf ball from the right? As golfers, we are faced when many challenges during a round, and the ability to know how to draw the golf ball from right to left (right-hander) is a valuable skill.
The good news is learning how to draw the golf ball is not that difficult. It’s a matter of getting the right set up and understanding how to swing the golf club.

Close the clubface
To draw the golf ball right to left the first thing you must do is turn the clubface in slightly to help promote the right to left spin on the golf ball.
Make sure you shut the clubface first a fraction (turn head in closer to the ball) and then take your normal grip
Aim body to the right of the target
To really draw the golf ball from right to left you must first aim to the right of the target. After all, you don’t want to aim straight at that big tree in front of you!
Aim far enough to the right to avoid the trouble. This includes your upper body and your lower body.
Your rear foot should be placed about 3 - 5 inches lower than your front foot to help promote a more inside to outside swing path.

It’s important to understand that once you have the correct set up when trying to learn how to draw the golf ball you don’t have to change the golf swing.
Don’t grip the club any different
Don’t swing the swing any different
Let the golf club follow the path of the upper and lower body and the clubhead will do the rest.
What you need to do now
Learning how to draw the golf ball is not that difficult once you make a few minor changes to your set up.
Give it a try next time you are faced with a tricky shot and need to work the golf ball around an object to get to your intended target.
Remember to slightly close the clubface, aim the body to the right and let the clubface do its thing.
